Princess Anne was granted a divorce from Mark Phillips on Thursday, more than 21/2 years after they legally separated.
The 41-year-old daughter of Queen Elizabeth II was represented in court by a lawyer when Judge Gerald Angel granted the uncontested divorce.The couple, who have a son and daughter, separated in 1989 after 15 years of marriage.
British law provides for uncontested divorces after two years of separation.
Buckingham Palace announced April 13 that Anne had filed for divorce. No financial settlement was announced.
Anne, whose official title is Princess Royal, is the second member of the immediate royal family this century to divorce.
Princess Margaret, the queen's only sister, ended her 18-year marriage to photographer Lord Snowdon in 1978.
