A doctor who made health care his chief issue won the Democratic nomination for Wyoming's lone House seat and vowed to take on politicians "more interested in the next election than the next generation."

Dr. Jon Herschler, an eye surgeon, received an unofficial 26,372 votes, or 59 percent, to rancher Jim Huidekoper's 11,003 votes, or 24 percent. Three other candidates split the rest Tuesday.Herschler, whose slogan was "a cure for Congress," will face Rep. Craig Thomas in November. The Republican was unopposed in his bid for a second full term.
