Alabama's George Teague was hoping that if he came to the Japan Bowl, he might gain added chances to impress pro scouts.

The decision paid off for both Teague and the East squad. With 3:10 left to play, Teague picked off a pass by Pacific's Troy Kopp and ran 47 yards for the clinching touchdown in the East all-stars' 27-13 victory over the West on Sunday.

Gambling also paid off for the East. Pittsburgh quarterback Alex Van Pelt succeeded twice on fourth-and-one plunges in a 15-play, 80-yard first-quarter scoring drive.
