Fake flamingos are usually perched among the pansies, but one such fowl recently got a bird's-eye view of the country. Dennis McDaniel of Watkinsville, Ga., swiped "Phil" the flamingo from a yard and took it on a two-month, 14,000-mile trip around the United States. McDaniel sent photos of Phil in front of famous landmarks to Phil's owner, Gerald Stalker, and signed the letters "Phil the Flamingo." McDaniel recently told Stalker that he was the prankster.
