Brigitte Bardot thinks it's barbarous to put dolphins in a tank like goldfish. The former actress criticized plans by a hotel in French Polynesia to trap and display up to a dozen dolphins in a large aquarium. French Environment Minister Michel Barnier told her French law on animal protection doesn't apply to overseas territories. The minister promised to ask officials in the territories to adopt similar regulations. Bardot called Friday for Barnier to "urgently prohibit" the Beachcomber Hotel in Moorea, New Caledonia, from capturing the dolphins.
