James Gallagher, dressed as George Washington, marches past an encouraging crowd after helping to re-enact the historical crossing of the Delaware River from Pennsylvania to New Jersey Saturday. Thousands gathered on the river's banks as about 200 participants in four 40-foot replica Durham boats crossed the river in the 41st re-enactment of the 1776 crossing - a prelude to a surprise attack on enemy troops at Trenton, N.J., during the Revolutionary War. Visitors from Italy, England and Japan were among the spectators.
