Oswold John Sims, age 80, passed away peacefully December 23, 1993 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Oswold was born November 20, 1913 in Thatcher, Arizona to Albert John and Ella Holladay Sims. He married Miriam Cutler on December 5, 1940 at Mesa Arizona LDS Temple.Oswold was a master craftsman carpenter working for many construction companies over the years, but much of his career was spent with the Cannon Construction Co. Some of his works include Snow Bird Resort, The Brick Yard Condo's, and refurbishing of the Utah State Capitol. Active member of the Carpenter's Union. He was an Eagle Scout, and an active high priest in the LDS Church, where he has served in many callings, including a mission to the East Central States, and a Stake mission with his wife.

He worked with wood as a vocation, and as his avocation, as he had his "Studio" behind their home. There he produced many an item, from toys to beautifully finished pieces of art for his family and friends.

Survived by his wife, Miriam, of Salt Lake City; a son and two daughters, Sandra Sims, Arkansas; Donald John Sims, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia; and Merlene Sims (Alvin L.) Crapo, Orem; seven grandchildren, Brenn, James, Shawn, Brandi, Chrisanne, Nikki and Tawna; six brothers, Eugene, Marden, Joe, Dale, George and Kieth; and a sister, Yeteve.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 28, 11 a.m. at the Grant 7th Ward, 3487 South 1300 East. Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Holbrook Funeral Chapel, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the church on Tuesday for one hour prior to the services.

Interment: Elysian Burial Gardens.
