Isabelle Stagg Rodgers, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away on December 23, 1993 in Bountiful, Utah after suffering a stroke on September 9, 1993.
For three years preceding her death, she spent most of her time managing the box-office of the Pages Lane Theatre and in that capacity became known as "Grandma" to the many patrons and performers at the theatre.She was born August 13, 1912 in Castle Gate, Utah, a daughter of Charles E. Stagg and Hannah Kirton. She married Ralph G. Rodgers in Salt Lake City, Utah on January 21, 1931. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on September 24, 1989.
She was a devoted wife and mother. She followed her husband on his many changes of assignments while employed with Edison Brothers Shoe Stores.
Her life was her family. Her husband and two children were first and foremost in her life. It was because of them that she enjoyed cooking and providing a comfortable and loving home. She was a true "stage" mother, always encouraging and pushing her husband and children in their many activities.
Her church was an important facet of her life. She served in many capacities in both ward and stake positions and was "Grandma" to the Grant Third Ward while her husband served as bishop for five years. She served a mission with her husband in Hawaii in 1980 and 1981.
She is survived by son, Ralph G. (Joan) Rodgers, Jr.; daughter, Margo Lou (David) Beecher; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five step grandchildren; one step great-grandchild; brothers, Harold (Stella) Stagg; W. W. (Helen) Stagg; Henry Donald Stagg; Robert (Betty) Stagg; sister, Grace Williams. Preceded in death by brother, Charles Stagg.
Funeral services Wednesday, December 29, 1993, at 11 a.m. in the Mueller Park 4th Ward Chapel, 1350 East 1975 South, Bountiful. Friends may call Tuesday, 6-8 p.m. at Pages Lane Theatre, 292 East Pages Lane, Centerville, and Wednesday, 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
