A good Samaritan remained in critical but stable condition at University Hospital Saturday after she was hit by a car on I-215 early Friday morning.

Amy Waite, 20, suffered major vascular injury to one of her legs, which required amputation, a nursing supervisor said. Waite was struck while helping a stranded motorist near the Fort Union Boulevard exit on northbound I-215.The incident is under investigation.
