"The origin of the fire was in or near the Christmas tree," Salt Lake City fire Capt. Rick Berrett said. The home was unoccupied when the blaze started, and it is unknown if the Christmas tree was plugged in at the time, he said.Fire crews on two engines and a truck arrived at the two-story home about 3:15 p.m. to find flames and smoke pouring from the structure, Berrett said. The fire was under control within 10 minutes and destroyed three down-stairs rooms.
