Verda Mae Jensen Young, 90, passed away December 24, 1993 in the Sanpete Valley Hospital.
Born September 3, 1903 in Mt. Pleasant, a daughter of Niels Marinus and Helena Elmena Sorenson Jensen. Married Harold Alma Young November 10, 1920.Verda loved to socialize and entertain. She was a member of the Ladies Literary Club, Daughters of Utah Pioneers, Our Night Out Club, and others. She was active in the LDS Church and served in many capacities. She was most happy when helping others. She traveled the world extensively with her beloved husband and companion, Harold, who preceded her in death in 1969.
Survived by children, Kenneth (Miriam) Young, Seattle, Wash.; Kenneth (Doris) Young, Evanston, Wyoming; and Janice Y. Johnson, Salt Lake City; 16 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; and by many special friends. Preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.
She was loved by all. Special thanks to the staff of Sanpete Valley Hospital for their tender, loving care.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 28, 1993, 1 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Fourth LDS Ward Chapel, 49 South State Street. Friends may call at the chapel from 11 a.m.-12:45 p.m. prior to services. Burial, Mt. Pleasant Cemetery under the direction of Ursenbach Funeral Home.
