An Ogden man died early Christmas Day in a rollover on I-15 after fleeing a Utah Highway Patrol trooper.

Stephen C. Terneus, 19, was ejected from his vehicle near 450 North on I-15 about 4 a.m., a Weber County sheriff's dispatcher said. Terneus was alone in the vehicle, and his body was thrown 50 feet from the accident.Terneus was first clocked going 73 mph on northbound I-15 when the trooper gave chase, the dispatcher said. He increased his speed to 90 mph while exiting the freeway at 450 North. He passed through a stop sign at the bottom of the ramp, then lost control of his vehicle and struck a guard rail while attempting to re-enter I-15, according to the dispatcher.
