Girzy Belle Channel Ayres, 92, passed away December 24, 1993.
Born February 20, 1901 in Kearney, Nebraska, the daughter of George Elmer Elsworth Channel and Helen Agnes Seelye Channel. Family moved to Salt Lake City in 1902. Educated in Salt Lake City schools. Employed by Warner Bros. 46 years as branch cashier and manager's secretary. Married R. Herle Ayres, May 11, 1935 in Salt Lake City. He passed away 1983. Longrest-time member First United Methodist Church. Active in United Methodist Women, and member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Veterans World War I Barracks 1479.Survived by step-son, Don Ayres, Ashfork, Ariz; step-daughter, Shirley Ayres Jorgensen, Verdugo City, Calif.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; nieces, Mrs. George (Eleanor) Rettie, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Tim (Carol) Ronzio, Franktown, Colo.; and seven grandnieces and nephews. Preceded in death by brother, Ralph A. Channel and sister, Mary C. Erickson.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 1993 at First United Methodist Church, 203 So. 200 East, Salt Lake City, where friends may call one half hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers, contributions to First United Methodist Memorial Fund or to favorite charity. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Parking is avail. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 255 So. 200 East, Salt Lake City, in charge of arrangements.
