Like baked potatoes but not from the microwave. Try this.

As soon as you get home from work, scrub and prick four (8-ounce) oblong baking potatoes. Arrange them on a paper towel in the microwave and cook about halfway done (5 minutes on high power) while you're preheating the oven to 400 degrees.Complete the baking in the conventional oven, which requires about 20 to 30 minutes. Poke the tops with a fork and push from the bottom to split the potatoes - this is preferable to slitting them with a knife, according to potato experts.

To make a complete meal, add toppers such as deli ham salad or frozen creamed spinach or chopped broccoli in cheese sauce.
