Bodyguards helped Britain's Princess Diana carry away shopping bags after a brief trip to upscale shopping areas in Washington and nearby Chevy Chase, Md.
The princess bought a pair of size 6 jeans, sampled perfume and stopped for a cup of cappuccino Monday during what the British Embassy called a private visit to Washington.Salesclerk Rebecca Siegel said she was a little apprehensive while offering to help Diana while she looked through a stack of jeans at Banana Republic in Chevy Chase.
"I was really nervous, but she was so nice," Siegel, 18, told The Washington Post. "She wasn't at all pretentious."
