Robert Nelson Brewer, 52, died December 26, 1993, in a Salt Lake hospital of complications following lung transplant surgery.
Bob was born August 28, 1941, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Robert Ward and Emily Ruth Nelson Brewer. He married Sandra Lynn Pease, May 4, 1985, in Kalamazoo, Michigan; the marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS temple.Survived by his wife Sandy, of Salt Lake City; two daughters, Andrea House, of Kalamazoo; Julie Harris, of Salt Lake City; and five grandchildren. Also surviving are his mother, Ruth; brother, Bruce; and three sisters, Pat Brewer, Jerrie Hofeling and Sue Parker, all from Salt Lake City.
Bob was known for his love of people, expressed through his work at Utah Technology Finance Corp., as well as through his many volunteer activities. He played the piano to the delight of all who heard him: regularly at Wasatch Villa, and upon request whenever he was called upon. He enjoyed visiting with people, story sharing and genealogy research, infusing all his endeavors with a warm sense of humor and a determination to carry on despite his deteriorating health. Everyone he touched will miss his lively enthusiasm, his joy, his courage and his generosity of spirit.
Funeral services will be Thursday, December 30, 11 a.m., at the Garden Heights South Ward, 2220 Fisher Lane (2925 So). Friends may call Wednesday, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at the Holbrook Funeral Chapel, 3251 So. 2300 East, and at the church, Thursday for one hour prior to the services. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made in Bob's name to the Robert N. Brewer Grandchildren Fund, % Key Bank at Dan's on 2300 east and 3300 So. (84109). Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Funeral Directors: The Holbrook Funeral Chapel.
