Our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Florence May, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 27, 1993, in Holladay, Utah of natural causes.
She was born March 30, 1908, a daughter of Frank and Mable Boyle Duncombe in Salt Lake City. Married Timothy Franklin May on July 7, 1927, in Salt Lake City. They are the parents of a son and a daughter, Jerry and Sandra.She was an excellent seamstress, crocheter and cook. Her family always came first and she preferred to stay at home and raise her children. After the untimely death of her husband, she did enter the work force, first with IML, and then Unisys Corp., where she worked until retirement.
She is survived by: Son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Amy Lue May, and daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Charles Lamper. Also, grandchildren, Christy (James) Ault, Jodi (Scott) Maxfield, Timothy (Debbi) Lamper and James (Diana) May; also 13 great-grandchildren; brother, William Duncombe, sisters, LaRue Newton and Renea Fontinot, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband, father and mother, brothers and sisters, Delbert, Dorothy, Glen (Bus), Ray and Audrey.
"To our dearest Mother and Grandmother....May you find peace and joy in the arms of your beloved husband, who left you and this earthly existence so many years ago, December 26, 1956. Both of you tarried long enough to give us the gift of a Christmas morning. We love you."
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 30, at Evans & Early Mortuary, 574 East 100 South, where friends may call Wednesday evening, 7 to 8 p.m., and Thursday, one hour prior to services. The family suggests those wishing may make contributions to the Primary Childrens' Hospital. Interment, Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
