Actor Tony Danza was in stable condition Wednesday after suffering broken ribs in a skiing accident at Deer Valley.

Danza, who appeared in the television comedies "Who's the Boss?" and "Taxi," was admitted to University Hospital Tuesday following the accident at Deer Valley, about 50 miles east of Salt Lake City.Hospital spokesman John Dwan would only confirm that Danza, 42, had been brought into the hospital's emergency room about 4 p.m., and he referred other questions to Danza's publicist, Frank Lieberman.

Lieberman, reached in New York City, said he had few details other than Danza sustained some broken ribs and had remained conscious. He did not know of any other injuries.

A nursing supervisor said Danza was in stable condition.
