Duane Albert Homer, 81, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, died Dec. 27, 1993.
He was born June 29, 1912, at Poplar, Idaho to Russell King and Ella Minerva Flitton Homer. He served a mission to California from 1934-36. He married Loa Harwood on June 9, 1941 in the Salt Lake Temple. A devoted Latter-day Saint, he served in priesthood leadership positions and as a temple worker. He filled a mission with his wife to the Oakland Temple Visitors Center from 1978-80.He is survived by: His wife, Loa; and children, Duane Alan (Connie) Homer, Centerville; Gerald Lynn (Lynda) Homer, San Antonio, Texas; Brian Lee (Ann) Homer, Susan (Gilbert J.) Coulam, all Salt Lake City; 25 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Gordon C. Homer, Bountiful; Vera Burrell, Farr West, Utah; Venda Burkeson, St. George, Utah; preceded in death by parents, brother, Russell King Homer, sister, Lyllis Wrathall.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 31, 1993, at 11 a.m., at the Eagle Gate 1st Ward, 2nd Ave. and G Street. Friends may call Thursday evening, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Deseret Mortuary, 36 East 700 So., and again on Friday at the ward from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Lake Hills Memorial Park, 10055 So.
