Ellis Mabel Pinnock Johns, 87, of Provo, died Monday, December 27, 1993 at her home in Edgemont.

She was born August 8, 1906 in Salt Lake City, a daughter of Henry Hugh and Mary Ada Phippen Pinnock. She married Harold Graydon Johns, February 22, 1934 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died May 22, 1976.She was educated in Salt Lake City schools and attended the University of Utah. She moved to Provo from Whittier, California twenty-three years ago. She loved the beauties of nature and working in her yard and garden. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed crocheting and shared her handiwork with friends and family alike.

She was a very active member of the LDS Church, and served in many capacities, including MIA teacher and president, Relief Society teacher, Relief Society stake board, Relief Society president in Whittier, California and in Provo. She was a visiting teaching supervisor at the time of death.

Survivors include her children, Richard Stanley and Carolyn Johns II, Judith and Lee F. Braithwaite, Jill and David C. Borden, Martha Lee and Bruce M. Dredge, 30 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 31, at 11 a.m. in the Provo Edgemont 21st Ward Chapel, 2900 North 650 East, Provo. Friends may call Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 600 East 800 North, Orem, and Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the ward chapel. Burial will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
