Juab County commissioners have agreed to declare Bethphage Missions West a non-profit, tax-exempt organization.

Kay Heaps, executive director of Bethphage, and Marie Cameron, assistant director, asked the county commission to grant their request.Heaps said the organization will continued to operate TRAIL Inc., the sheltered workshop for the handicapped.

Affiliated with the Lutheran Church, the organization has headquarters in Omaha, Neb., and the Missions West portion has a main office in Colorado.

Personal property, such as the TRAIL buses, can also be exempted.
