Beloved mother, grandmother and great- grandmother, Virginia Whitney Holt, 87, passed away December 28, 1993 at a Salt Lake nursing home.
Born May 17, 1906 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Joshua R. and Emiline Laie World Whitney. She married Alvin Palmer Holt, November 21, 1924 in Farmington, Utah. Divorced in 1974. She was a great-granddaughter of Newell K. Whitney. She worked at the Deseret News from 1958-1971 as the head PBX Operator and from 1971-1976 with the NAC, when she retired. She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends.Survived by a son and two daughters: Mrs Maralyn Miller Rhead, Holladay; Nancy Holmsen, Yorba Linda, California; Gary A. Holt, Salt Lake City; 13 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by six brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 31, 1993 at 2 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 South Highland Drive, where friends may call on Friday, one hour prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
