We need a new director and administration for the C. Lowell Lees Theater at the University of Utah. No responsible person would ask someone to express such vulgarity as fell from the lips of young people during "Inspecting Carol." Nothing in the play calls for such prurient declamation. It is all contrived.

Cable TV, librarians who buy dirty books and theater executives claim they are giving people what they want. The facts prove they are out of touch with the values of the citizenry.Shallow minds attempt to justify corruption on constitutional grounds. There is nothing in the Bill of Rights that condones degradation. John Adams said it well: This Constitution is designed for a righteous people. It is entirely inadequate for any other.

Heaven speed the day when we may enrich our jaded souls with the good, the pure and the beautiful.
