A Salt Lake County video store was robbed early Thursday morning by a man wielding a double-barrel sawed-off shotgun.
The 19-year-old clerk told police that a "scraggly" man entered Movie Buffs, 1108 E. 3300 South, about 3:20 a.m. with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth. The clerk asked the man to step outside and put out the cigarette, a Salt Lake County Sheriff's report said. The man then put a sawed-off shotgun on the counter and told the clerk to open the register and lie on the floor. The clerk did as he was told, and the man emptied the register, attempted to pull a phone from the wall and then left, the report said.
Deputies found footprints outside the video store in the snow and a pair of handcuffs. The man is described as about 6 feet tall, 130 or 140 pounds with blond hair and a beard and moustache.
