Local fans of CBS' excellent new continuing drama "Second Chances" don't have to worry about missing an episode tonight.

Although KSL-Ch. 5 is pre-empting CBS programming, "Chances" doesn't air this week. (The network has a night full of reruns, including a repeat special at 9 p.m.)"Second Chances" returns next week. (And if you haven't seen it yet, be sure to tune in.)

BYU NOT AVAILABLE: Apparently, some Cougar fans have been calling and castigating KSL for carrying Utah's Freedom Bowl appearance instead of BYU in the Holiday Bowl.

ESPN has an exclusive contract with the Holiday Bowl, so it was not available to local broadcasters.

Once again, BYU vs. Ohio State will be seen only on cable.

TALK-SHOW CHANGES: KTVX-Ch. 4 has made up its mind about what to do with its weekday afternoon lineup now that "Les Brown" has been canceled by its syndicator. (Its last show is Jan. 14.)

Ch. 4 will pick up the syndicator's replacement talk show, "Rolanda." But when "Rolanda" debuts on Jan. 17, it will be seen at 2 p.m., with "Montel Williams" moving into "Les Brown's" old 3 p.m. time slot.
