Harold C. Yancey has been named to the board of directors of Wasatch Insurance Companies, one of Utah's largest mutual insurance company families.

Yancey recently retired after serving as Utah state insurance commissioner under Gov. Norm Bangerter. During his tenure, Yancey was active in the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. He is a chartered property-casualty underwriter. He was local head of Northwest National Insurance Co. before joining state government.Wasatch Insurance has assets of more than $37 million and does business as Energy Mutual Insurance Co. and Electric Mutual Benefit Association. It provides a wide range of insurance programs including property, casualty, life, medical and specialty insurance.
