Richard Lowell Hullinger, age 78, passed away Dec. 29, 1993 at the LDS Hospital from pneumonia.

He was born May 14, 1915 in Vernal to Hyrum and Ethel Summarell Hullinger. Richard spent a very happy childhood on the James Summarell Homestead in Cedarview, Utah, with his mother, grandparents and sister, LaJuana.Married Gladys Paul Nov. 30, 1942 in Preston, Idaho. He was a carpenter and architect, teaching his trade for 15 years. Retired from Kennecott in 1981.

Richard loved his family more than life itself. His next love was the out-of-doors, with many hours spent hunting in the mountains and fishing the streams.

He was an Elder in the LDS Church, served many years in the Scouting program. He was a perfect neighbor and friend to all.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years; children and spouses, Paul and Jacquie Hullinger, Alturas, Calif.; Brent and Debbie Hullinger, Gary and Stephanie Hullinger, Rick Hullinger, of Salt Lake City; Kevin and Jeannie Hullinger, Springville; 14 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Jerry (Darlene) Van, and Dolores Grunewald, of Salt Lake City. He was preceded in death by a sister, LaJuana LePore; mother, Ethel Brown.

Funeral services Monday, 10 a.m. at the Poplar Grove LDS Ward, 1401 West 7th So. Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Sunday evening from 7-9 p.m. and Monday at the church from 9-9:45 a.m. Interment, Cedarview Cemetery. Funeral directors: Hullinger-Olpin Mortuary, Roosevelt.
