Auditions have been scheduled for these stage productions:

- ZARA SPOOK AND OTHER LURES on Jan. 7-8 at Salt Lake Acting Company, 168 W. 500 North.Directed by Toni Byrd, this regional premiere of Joan Ackermann-Blount's comedy will inaugurate SLAC's new downstairs, 40-seat second stage. Four men and two women, from their 30s to late 40s, are needed for the play. To schedule an audition time, call 363-0526.

"Zara Spook and Other Lures," which drew considerable acclaim when it was presented at the Humana Theatre Festival in Louisville, Ky., was originally scheduled to be mounted Jan. 19-Feb. 24 on SLAC's main stage. Instead, it will open Feb. 16 and Tina Howe's 1983 off-Broadway play, "Painting Churches," will be staged in the larger space in the former "Zara Spook" time slot.

- THE CYCLE OF LIFE: AN EVENING OF THEATRICAL POETRY, Mike Hamill's sequel to last season's "Simple Thoughts," on Monday, Jan. 3, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Rip Black Photography Studios, 720 S. 300 West.

There are roles for two men and two women.

Auditioners are asked to bring a recent photograph and resume. The play contains some material that will be used in a film version of "Simple Thoughts" later in the year. It is being directed by Tony Leger.

"The Cycle of Life" uses poetry, live theater, music and dance to explore various facts of life. Playdates are Feb. 17-26 at the Kimball Art Center in Park City. For further information, call Ogab Publishing at 649-2544.
