A Sevier County woman died Wednesday at LDS Hospital following a two-car accident in Annabella.
Authorities have also released the name of a Jensen man killed in Uintah County Saturday.Killed were:
Valarie Dunn, 18, Annabella
Joseph K. Price, 20, Jensen.
Dunn was a passenger in a car that was broadsided while traveling on the Annabella Road east of Richfield, Utah Highway Patrol dispatchers said. She was transported to LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, where she died Wednesday as a result of massive head injuries.
There were four other people in the same car. Driver Julie Wood, 18, was not injured. VerDawn Wood, 53, suffered possible broken ribs. Trina Wood, 15, suffered head injuries and was in critical condition Wednesday at LDS Hospital. Cory Dunn, 15, suffered cuts and bruises.
Their car was struck broadside about 3:30 p.m. when a driver in a pickup failed to yield, the dispatcher said. Driver Walter Morrison, 74, Monroe, was not injured.
No one in either vehicle was wearing a seat belt.
Price was a passenger in a 1994 pickup when the vehicle went off the Brush Creek Road east of Vernal on Saturday. The truck hit a utility pole and became airborne. It landed on its passenger side and rolled, eventually coming to rest upright, a UHP dispatcher said.
The driver, 21-year-old David Gurr of Vernal, was transported to LDS Hospital, where he was in serious condition Wednesday.
Investigators suspect alcohol played a role in the accident, which remains under investigation, according to UHP.
