Just because the big Cy Twombly retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art ends next month doesn't mean that the artist will be forgotten.

This week, the Modern bought two works from the show: "Leda and the Swan" (1962) and an untitled large gray-ground blackboard painting from 1970.In addition, the artist has given the museum "The Four Seasons," his recently completed group of four canvases depicting the season's cycles.

To purchase the two Twombly works, the museum used money from its sale of Miro's "Moonbird," a 1966 sculpture that was a recent bequest from the estate of the architect Gordon Bunshaft and his wife, Nina.
