Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather, Hugh Crosby Bringhurst, age 79, passed away December 22, 1994 of heart failure.

Born April 13, 1915 in Bennion, Utah, son of Louis Scott and Jessie Maude Crosby Bringhurst. Married Twila Blanche Crook March 7, 1939 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a successful poultryman; worked for Salt Lake County; Director of the Utah State Fair for 15 years. Active member of the LDS Church where he was first counselor before serving as bishop of the Bennion Ward; afterwards served as coach of the Young Men. He was a director of the Central Utah and Salt Lake County Water Conservancy Districts; president, Westside Water System and organizer of Taylorsville Bennion Improvement District and served as director on the board. Also director of Walker Bank and Trust. He was a sportsman and loved to fish.Survived by his wife of 56 years; one son and four daughters, Elma (Frank) Ashley, Salt Lake City; Hugh C. Jr. (Gay), Salt Lake City; Twila (Larry) Affleck, Salt Lake City; Dawna (Nolan) Bailey, Heyburn, Idaho; Rea (Don) Petersen, Salt Lake City; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; two brothers and two sisters. Preceded in death by parents and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 1 p.m., December 27, 1994 in the Bennion East Stake Center, 5980 South 1300 West. Friends may call Monday 5-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Rd. and Tuesday at the church 12-12:40 p.m. Interment: Valley View
