Delna Stewart Arthur, 80, passed away December 22, 1994 in St. George, Utah.

She was born February 12, 1914 in Hinckley, Utah, the first of 11 children born to George Lyle and Clara May Walker Stewart. She was preceded in death by a brother, Walker Stewart.Delna attended BAC (SUU) and graduated in 1934. She taught school one year before she married Dee Arthur on May 8, 1935. She attended CSU (SUU) and graduated in 1964. Together, with her husband, they owned and operated the Center Grocery Store until 1964. They then relocated to southern California, where she taught elementary school for 13 years.

Delna was a published poet and writer and a talented artist, seamstress and vocalist.

Survivors: husband, Dee Arthur, of Cedar City; daughters, Jean Huntsman, of Cedar City; Carol Lee Miller, of Orange, Calif.; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Lyle Stewart, of Pleasant Grove, Utah; Reed Stewart, of Magna, Utah; Duane Stewart, of Lynden, Washington; and Don Stewart, of Bountiful, Utah; sisters, Norma Pate, of American Fork, Utah; Florence Smith, of Lompoc, California; Mary Abbott, of Spanish Fork; Jean Caldwell, of Lake Arrowhead, California; and Joy Christensen, of West Jordan, Utah.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 28, 1994 at 11 a.m. at Southern Utah Mortuary in Cedar City, Utah, where friends may call Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday morning one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Cedar City Cemetery.
