The number of work-related illnesses and injuries in Utah dipped slightly last year compared to figures from 1992.

In all, there were 49,000 injuries and illnesses that occurred in Utah's private industries in 1993. Of those, 46,400 resulted in lost work time, medical treatment or transfer to another job.The report was conducted by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. Department of Labor and the Industrial Com-mis-sion.

In 1992, the incidence rate of reported injuries was 10.2 per 100 workers, while last year's rate dropped to 9.8 cases per 100 employees.
