Blaine F. Gunn, 68, passed away at his home on Sunday, Dec. 25, 1994.

He was the son of Franklin D. and Lillian Juanita Jensen Gunn, born in Elsinore, Utah on October 23, 1926. He served in the Pacific with the Army during World War II, fulfilled a mission for the LDS Church in France, earned his Bachelor's Degree in Economics at the University of Utah and his Master's Degree at BYU. He taught at Los Angeles Valley College in Van Nuys for 37 years.Blaine married Essie (Ann) Wright in August, 1957 in the Salt Lake Temple. She died May, 1978. He later married Judith Henson Long in the Los Angeles Temple for "time" in February, 1983, which was later solemnized in the Jordan River Temple in July, 1994. September 1, 1994, the City of Centerville, Utah proclaimed that day as "Blaine F. Gunn Day". Through his last days, Blaine set many celestial examples for all of us to witness.

Blaine is survived by his wife, Judy; sons, Bruce F. (Heide), Goldsboro, No. Carolina; Brian D. (Alisa), Ogden, Utah; daughter, Brenda K. (LaMar) Roberts, Spanish Fork, Utah; stepdaughters, Lynnette (Glenn) Fisk, North Salt Lake, Utah; Nancy Long, Sunset, Utah; and stepson, William C. Long II, Ventura, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and one sister, Joan (Jesse) Gibb, Ellensburg, Wash.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 29, 1994 at 11 a.m. in the Centerville 15th ward, Chase Lane and 400 West. Friends may call at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday at the church from 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Elsinore Cemetery.
