Our beloved mother and grandmother, Dorothy Hills Hagen, 78, passed away Monday, December 26, 1994, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
She was born May 14, 1916 in Salt Lake City, the fourth of five children of Fredrick III and Agnes Matilda Burton Hills. She married her sweetheart, Ray D. Hagen, Aug. 7, 1935 in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died Dec. 1, 1970. She helped keep his memory alive during the 24 years following his death."Dotty" actively helped her husband establish his dream - the Federal Employees Credit Union, known as America First Credit Union.
Dorothy will be long remembered for her dazzling sense of humor, her unsurpassed pie-making ability, her kind and gentle way of loving children, and her devotion to her family and friends.
Surviving are one son and two daughters, Dr. James R. (Myra) Hagen, Frostburg, Maryland; Margean (Glen) Jones and Judy (Larry) Thorne, both of Ogden; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., with Bishop Lawrence Giles, officiating. Friends may call at the mortuary Wednesday, 6-8 p.m. and Thursday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park.
