Jean Searle Killpack Passey died December 26, 1994, in Provo, Utah after a long, valiant battle with cancer.
She was born November 23, 1913 in Decatur, Illinois to Albert Ernest Searle and Frances Millicent Freeland. She married Scott Douglas Killpack, May 24, 1935 and this marriage was later solemnized in the Los Angeles Temple, May 31, 1957. They were married for 53 years, when he died November 23, 1985. Jean met and married a wonderful companion, Scott Budge Passey, September 28, 1988.Jean was a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint, being baptized in 1948. As the only member of the LDS Church in her family she devoted many hours to genealogy and family history research. She also served in all the auxiliary organizations.
Jean was a skillful seamstress and in her later years added quilting to that talent. She donated many quilts to the LDS Hosptial Quilt Auction.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Scott Budge Passey; daughter, Cheryl Jean Doty (husband, Donald); son, Gary Dee Killpack (wife, Marilyn); two grandsons, David Scott Doty (wife, Rori) and John Richard Doty (wife, Kristy); two granddaughters, Jenni and Becky Killpack and one great-granddaughter, Shannon Doty.
A very short service for family and friends will be held at the Olpin Family Mortuary in Pleasant Grove, 494 So. 300 East at 2 p.m., December 28, 1994. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the LDS Hospital Deseret Foundation Holiday Quilt Show and Auction, 8th Avenue and C Street, Salt Lake City, Utah. 84103.
