About 465 people have been killed in fighting Sunday and Monday between rival Kurdish factions in northern Iraq, the official Iraqi News Agency reported Tuesday.

In a dispatch monitored in London, INA said fierce fighting raged Monday in the Kani Kirzala area of Arbil province between Kurdistan Democratic Party forces loyal to Massud Barzani and supporters of Jalal Talabani's Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.The agency said 92 members of the pro-Barzani forces were killed Monday. In retaliation, Democratic Party forces killed more than 45 Talabani supporters in the same area.
