The Davis County gymnastics teacher who pleaded guilty to sexually abusing two of his young students will get out of prison on Valentine's Day 1995.

Blake S. Starr, 38, was sentenced to two concurrent prison sentences of one to 15 years each in September 1993. At his sentencing hearing, his attorney asked the judge to suspend the prison sentence, as Starr was already undergoing counseling. The judge refused to do that because he said Starr had abused a position of trust and power. When he is released in two months, he will have spent a total of 161/2 months in prison.

Starr worked at North Davis Gymnastics in Layton for more than a year, before Layton police began investigating charges that he molested two girls ages 13 and 14.
