Glen East, age 72, lifelong resident of Bountiful, Utah, slipped peacefully from this life into the loving arms of his mother and father, December 25, 1994. He passed from this life in the same room where he was born after a short but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Glen was born May 15, 1922 to John Loren and Alice Lillian Atkinson East. His parents died October 15, 1935. Spent his teenage years with his uncle and aunt, Delbert and Dorcus East who preceded him in death. He attended schools in Davis County, graduating from Davis High School in 1940. Glen married Louise Salisbury, August 9, 1942 in Hoytsville, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Jordan River Temple, October 8, 1994. Glen drove dump truck for Foss Lewis Sand & Gravel for 35 years, retiring in 1987. He and Louise ran the family farm all their married life. He loved his team of horses and used them to farm and assist his friends and neighbors. He worked hard and taught this trait to his children.Glen's greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Louise; daughters, Charlotte and Susan, Bountiful; Alice (Carl) Gallardo, West Haven; Glenda (Lee) Romrell, West Valley City; and son, Loren (Debi) East, Bountiful. He was a special grandpa to Jeremy, Brandon and Megan East; Anne and Glen Gallardo; and Loni, Amy, Craig and Emilee Romrell. He is also survived by his sister, Lorene E. Leak, Monroe, Utah; and his cousin, whom he thought of as his brother, Keith (Mary) East, Bountiful. He leaves behind numerous other cousins and many special friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 30, 1994 at 11 a.m. in the Val Verda 8th Ward, 2285 South 200 West. Friends may call at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Friday at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment - Bountiful City Cemetery.
