Lionel John Halverson, died December 21, 1994 in Salt Lake City.

Born September 26, 1903 in Salt Lake City, to John Esaias and Eva Hallelula Thomlinson Halverson. Married Anne Elizabeth Linton, November 24, 1930 in the Salt Lake Temple.He actively served in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He filled four missions and on the last two he was accompanied by his beloved wife. He loved teaching and spent years teaching in the priesthood and Sunday School.

In the early 1940's he purchased the Progressive Corrugating Works from his father. The company was renamed to the L.J. Halverson Corrugating Works. Until his retirement in 1971 he actively worked with the flour and feed industry in several western states.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne Halverson and daughter, Marilyn Halverson Barney. He is survived by children, Norma A. Mouritsen, John L. Halverson, Richard P. Halverson, Carol J. Garner; 27 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren; sister, Naomi Strong.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 30, 1994, 12 noon at the Garden Heights North Ward, 2270 E. Fisher Lane. Friends may call Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State St. and Friday 11-11:45 a.m. at the church. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery.
