The West African nation of Togo, a former French colony, has released a set of eight stamps depicting species of birds found in that country.

The five francs shows the secretary bird, 10 francs the paradise flycatcher, 25 francs the African spoonbill, 60 francs the Cordon-Bleu waxbill, 90 francs the orange-breasted sunbird, 100 francs the yellow-billed hornbill, 200 francs the African hoopoe, and 1,000 francs the red-throated bee eater.A souvenir sheet also was issued featuring the vulture. The denomination is 1,500 francs.
