In the midst of all that football, CBS is airing a very good made-for-TV movie on Sunday night.

Emmy and Oscar-winner Louis Gossett Jr. stars in "A Father for Charlie" (Sunday, 8 p.m., Ch. 5), a powerful, touching drama.Gossett stars as Walter Osgood, a Depression-era farmer whose battle with biggotry has cost him his family. And his current problems include a threatened foreclosure on his farm.

Adding to the difficulties is a sudden addition to his family--a 10-year-old white boy (Joseph Mazzelo) in need of a father when his own abandons him.

This is a superior TV movie--an involving project with some-thing to say.
