And you thought you were cheap:
Most people feel, secretly or not so secretly, that they don't go deep enough into their pockets at holiday time to honor their loved ones with desirable and appropriate gifts, but the story Joan Rivers told the New York Post should make such individuals feel a bit better about themselves (and, really, isn't that what it's all about?).It seems some unidentified person gave Joan a book on Egyptian art one Christmas. "I'm not fantastically crazy over Egyptian art," Joan explains, "but in any case this was a really ugly book. I mean, I don't know how you can make an art book lousy-looking, but this one was. So I wrapped it up, packed it up and sent it over to Cher as my Christmas gift to her. Only she didn't like it any better than I and she dumped it fast, too. I discovered later she unloaded it on Michelle Pfeiffer."
