Police officers arrested three Orem teens and two adults in connection with the pipe bombing of a truck in southwest Orem Tuesday night.

At approximately 8:30 p.m., Orem police received a report of an explosion near 1200 W. 400 South. Patrol officers and fire crews responded to the scene to find a truck on fire.While firefighters attempted to put out the fire, police officers questioned and eventually arrested an 18-year-old, a 19-year-old and three 16-year-olds, Orem Police Lt. Gerald Nielsen said.

Damage to the truck, which was consumed by the fire and explosion, was estimated at $1,500.

The three juveniles are being held at the Utah County Youth Detention Center, and the 18- and 19-year-old were taken to the Utah County Jail.
