Brett Allen shook off three defenders to hit a 13-foot leap-and-leaner at the buzzer to lift top-ranked Bountiful to a 58-57 victory over Box Elder Wednesday.

Allen, who finished with 19 points, and teammate James Cahoon, who added 14, helped the Braves overcome a 46-40 deficit after three quarters.Mark Larsen led all scorers with 22, while Box Elder teammate Casey Blacker contributed 17 - all in the second half.

The third-ranked Bees dropped to 7-2 with the setback, while Bountiful improved to 8-0.

At Weber, Kelby Miller scored 16 points in the fourth quarter as the Darts erased a six-point deficit to knock the Warriors from the unbeaten ranks. Miller finished with 24 points.

Wasatch 67, Snow Canyon 53

At Snow Canyon, a trio of Wasps (Kurt Hoffman, Corey Davis and Brady Farr) combined for 46 points to lead the Wasps past the Warriors. Trent Moss finished with a game-high 19 for Snow Canyon.

Richfield 67, South Sevier 59

At Richfield, Andy Oldroyd made his only shot of the game with one second remaining in regulation to force overtime, where Wildcat teammate Scott Cuff took control by scoring 10 points. The late burst overshadowed a 23-point performance by Nick Roberts of South Sevier.

Alta 72, Grand Island, Neb. 65

At Nebraska Prep Classic, Brad Willden scored 20 points and Brent Hawkins added 16 to lead the defending tournament champion Hawks to a first round victory. Alta, the only team to prevail out of state Wednesday, faces host Lincoln Thursday night.

Wayne 57, Milford 56

At Milford, an old-fashioned barnburner ended with a Tiger shot at the buzzer going in and out. Brad Laing scored 14 points to pace the Badgers to victory, while Ricky Rose of Milford finished with a game-high 20. The Tigers trailed by eight points with four minutes to play before rallying to make things interesting.

At Cedar City, Jenni Holt and Jamie Phelps combined for 31 points as the Wolves whipped the Redmen. Enterprise held Cedar City to just one point in the second quarter to build a 23-7 halftime advantage.
