Ada Jean Hill, 70, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away December 26, 1994, from a lingering illness. Her family was at her side.

Ada Jean was born in Bountiful, December 26, 1924, to Mark C. and Sarah Jane Rampton Holbrook. She will be missed by her husband and seven children, 36 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.As the youngest of seven children, she grew up in Bountiful, graduating from Davis High. She attended the University of Utah, LDS Business College, and BYU. She has always been a serious student of secular and religious books. Her favorite effort was in preparing and teaching lessons from Primary to Relief Society. She served and LDS mission to the Central States.

She married Earl F. Hill, of Payson, June 30, 1948 in the Salt Lake Temple. She and Earl were founders and owners of Hills Furniture on Riverdale Road in Ogden. She literally grew up working in the furniture business as her family operated Union Furniture and Lakewoods in Bountiful.

Ada Jean was always serving others. She enjoyed various LDS callings such as Primary president and teacher, Relief Society teacher and counselor. She enjoyed temple work and tending her grandchildren.

Ada Jean is survived by her husband, Earl; and her seven children, Elaine (Dave) Thomas, of Roy; Jay (Sheri) Hill, of Salt Lake City; Connie (Rick) Haddon, of Bountiful; Larry (Sharon) Hill, of Layton; Julie (Don) Higgs, of Germany; Brent (Moana) Hill, of Uintah; and Barbara (Chuck) Hawkins, of Roy.

She has two living brothers and one sister, Dell R. Holbrook, Reid R. Holbrook, and Alta Holbrook Taylor, all of Bountiful. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister: Merril R. and Mark Holbrook of Bountiful and Lillian Holbrook (Ray) Citte, of Ogden.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 30, at 11 a.m. at the Roy 10th Ward Chapel, 5900 South 3100 West, Roy, Utah. Friends may call Thursday 6-8:30 p.m. at the Myers Mortuary in Roy, 5865 South 1900 West. Also Friday 9:30-10:45 a.m. in the Roy 10th Ward Chapel. Interment, Bountiful City Cemetery at 3:30 p.m.
