Lifelong Kanab resident Isaiah S. Hamblin, 92, was found dead Wednesday in the Johnson Canyon area, about 20 miles northeast of Kanab.

Hamblin died after falling off a 25- to 35-foot cliff. According to Dave Owens, Search and Rescue commander for Kane County, Hamblin's body was found just before noon Wednesday by rescuers. They also discovered his truck stuck in the sand nearby. Speculation is that he walked off the cliff in the dark while trying to make his way out of the remote area.Hamblin had been reported missing Tuesday by family members and had last been seen at 11:30 a.m. that day.
