House Speaker-elect Newt Gingrich admires Komodo dragon he purchased from the National Zoo in Washington and donated to the zoo in Atlanta. In an interview with C-Span to air Monday, Gingrich's mother, Kathleen "Kit" Gingrich, said she thought one day her son would become curator of a zoo because of his love for the environment and said she gave him an environmental sweatshirt for Christmas. "He's for the environment. Animals, my word, yes." She said she thought eventually he would have a career involving animals. "Curator of a zoo. I thought that was what he was headed for. And as I've said, now he has his zoo."
