Alan C. Hicken, 63, died Tuesday, April 12, 1994 at his home.

He was born January 17, 1931 in Milford, Utah to Victor Miles and Sarah LaVern Cottle Jones. He was also the stepson of Kenneth Hicken.On April 25, 1962, he married Shirley Ann Stokes in Coalville. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple December 1, 1967. He was an active member of the LDS Church, Coalville 2nd Ward, and had served in the bishopric. He graduated from East High School and attended the University of Utah. He managed several businesses, was an accountant and had operated his own business.

Alan was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He was a friend to everyone. Alan brought a smile and a laugh to all who knew him. He had a special way of making people happy with his quick wit, special sense of humor, and love.

Surviving are his wife of Coalville; one daughter and two sons, Mr. and Mrs. Richard (Cindy) Harvey, Pleasant Grove; Mr. and Mrs. Miles Hicken and Mr. and Mrs. Craig Hicken, both of Kamas; seven grandchildren; and one brother, Charles Hicken, Palm Springs, Calif.

He was preceded in death by one grandson, Neil, and one sister, Ann.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 16, 1994, 1 p.m., in the Coalville Stake Chapel. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary in Coalville, Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Interment, Coalville Cemetery.
