Quarterback Wade Wilson, who was being courted as a backup by Dallas and at least two other NFL teams, reached a two-year agreement Wednesday night to return to the New Orleans Saints.

No other terms were disclosed, but The Times-Picayune said the deal potentially was worth $1.9 million.That would be substantially less than the $2.8 million Wilson received in 1993 as the Saints' starter. Next season, he probably will play behind Jim Everett, who was obtained March 18 from the Los Angeles Rams.
